The following message comes from Clara Huff, former IMB missionary to Chile and a current WMU NC Executive Board member. Please join us in praying for Chile.
The Baptist Convention of Chile, through the prayer chair person, has called for a week of prayer for Chile, March 7-14. Especially, they are asking that each family have a time of prayer together at 10 PM each evening for the country and the people who are affected. They also request all churches have a special half-hour prayer service this coming Sunday at 11:30 AM in every church, to be united in prayer for Chile. The young people specifically ask that everyone have a moment of prayer for Chile every 30 minutes. Also, the President-elect of Chile will take office in the next few days, and he needs our prayers.

WMU NC encourages everyone to support relief efforts in Haiti. Here are two ways you can help:
- Visit www.baptistsonmission.org to find ways you can help insure the people of Haiti receive both physical and spiritual care by supporting the efforts of NC Baptist Men. You also may track their progress, read specific prayer requests and find links to pictures of the work being done by following NCBMHaitiRelief on Twitter or ncbmhaitirelief on Facebook.
- Donate to national WMU's HEART Fund (Humanitarian Emergency Aid for Rebuilding Tomorrow), which allows national WMU and the WMU Foundation to respond to requests from WMU leaders across the country and around the world during emergencies and natural disasters. For more info, click here.

By the time you receive this issue of Tarheel Talk, most of you will be fully engaged in Christmas offering emphases – weeks of prayer, international missions studies and offering promotions and collections. Wonderful!
No matter how you choose to support our Baptist missionaries serving all around the world, it is a heart like Lottie Moon’s that calls us to give at this special time of year: “Need it be said why the week before Christmas is chosen? Is not the festive season, when families and friends exchange gifts in memory of The Gift laid on the altar of the world for the redemption of the human race, the most appropriate time to consecrate a portion from abounding riches and scant poverty to send forth the good tidings of great joy into all the earth?”

God's Word tells us in Matthew 19:13-14 when the little children were brought to Jesus, he said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Some of my fondest memories of WMU are singing "Jesus Loves the Little Children," hearing this scripture and learning that even I could be a missionary. I remember how much I enjoyed learning about missionaries - and learning that Jesus loved me and ALL the children of the world. I owe so much to the wonderful mission leaders that touched my life and taught a little girl that she could be a missionary wherever she was! I discovered that I did not have to travel around the world, far from home, but that I could be a missionary at school, home and wherever God placed me. More...
